Excellence in Character Scholarship

Excellence in Character Scholarship
Help us recognize and reward a deserving student...

The $3,500 Excellence In Character Scholarship was created by the Prattville-Autauga Character Coalition in 2019 to recognize students in Prattville and/or Autauga County that demonstrate excellence in character by providing financial assistance for post-secondary education. Many scholarships reward academic or athletic achievement, but few are based on the importance of character. The Excellence In Character Scholarship would not be possible without the support and engagement of citizens and community leaders in Prattville and Autauga County.

According to the new Alabama Commission on High Education (ACHE) data, approximately 37% percent of Alabama high school graduates are not enrolling in college the year after graduating from high school, putting those graduates at a disadvantage. College costs and trade school expenses often prevent graduating seniors from choosing to continue their education. The Character Coalition recognizes and rewards exemplary individual behavior and makes continuing education possible for deserving Prattville and Autauga County students.

Eligibility: Applicants must either be:

  • Graduating senior currently attending high school or being home schooled in Autauga County or the City or Prattville; or
  • A graduate from a GED program, high school or home school located in Autauga County of the City of Prattville and is currently enrolled or plans to enroll in post-secondary institution (i.e., 2-year or 4-year college or university, technical school, etc.).
