The PACC is a non-profit committed to teaching and promoting the importance of good character among our residents. In an effort to support character education in our schools, the Character Coalition established Character Education Grants to provide sustainable resources and build community support which may to be otherwise available to teach, highlight, and promote strong character development for our children and youth in Prattville and Autauga County Schools.
“The importance of Character Education can’t be over emphasized”, said Catherine Porter, President of the Prattville-Autauga Character Coalition. “These grants were made possible by the generosity of our community. Without the generous support from both individuals and our business community for our annual Champion of Character event, the grants to fund these valuable programs would not be possible.”
The Prattville-Autauga area was designated as a “Community of Character” in 2006, we are only one of only three such communities if our state. The PACC inspires and develops character in all areas of our community, helping people to reach their full potential and make our community stronger. The PACC is steered by the executive committee and a board of directors from different sectors or our community: business, education, family, government, churches, other places of faith. An active network of volunteers work diligently to introduce character development and ways to implement it to others throughout the Prattville-Autauga area.
