“We are thrilled to be able to provide financial assistance for post-secondary education by recognizing a student that exemplifies the importance of good character in their daily life,” said Nagea Littleton, President of the Prattville-Autauga Character Coalition. “Many scholarships reward academic performance or athletic achievement, but few are truly based on the importance of good character.”
Under the Excellence in Character Scholarship Award program, one $3,500 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior attending high school in Autauga County or the City of Prattville or to an individual who graduated from high school located in Autauga County or the City of Prattville and currently enrolled or plans to enroll in post-secondary education.
Applicants are required to complete an application and to provide three letters of recommendation. Applications must be received by March 1, 2019 and will be reviewed by the Prattville-Autauga Character Coalition Scholarship Committee. The top applicants will be invited to participate in an interview process to be held during the week of April 1 - 5, 2019.
“Without the amazing support and engagement of our citizens and community leaders in Autauga County and Prattville, this scholarship opportunity would not be possible,” said Catherine Porter, Past-President of the Prattville-Autauga Character Coalition. “We know that character sets the course of direction for our lives, so what better way to help ensure a person of good character achieves their dreams.”
